Administrative Assistant
Permanent Full Time Position
From $ 1 656 to $ 2 334, bi-weekly
(Pay Band 1)
The New Brunswick Health Council is seeking a curious, collaborative professional to join our team as an Administrative Assistant.
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Is passionate about handling a variety of administrative tasks
- Wants to help maintain efficient workflows

While you don’t need to be a certified accountant, you should feel comfortable with basic accounting principles. This role requires strong communication skills, excellent time management, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Location: This is an onsite full-time position located in Moncton, NB.
Travel: Some travel may be required.
Language: The successful candidate will be working in a bilingual environment daily. As such written and verbal communications skills in both English and French are required.
- A language aptitude test may be requested.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Director, Planning & Operations, the successful candidate will:
- Assist with data entry, record keeping, and basic bookkeeping tasks (Sage 50)
- Review and reconcile invoices and expenses
- Prepare and track purchase orders and maintain up-to-date records of financial transactions
- Prepare, as needed, reports for the Executive Director regarding expenses from various sources or projects
- Provide general administrative support to management and staff
- Answer phone calls, emails, and other correspondence in a professional and confidential manner
- Place orders for computer equipment or software
- Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical)
- Order and manage office supplies and inventory
- Support internal communication and help ensure smooth office operations
Qualifications
- A two-year college diploma in business administration or accounting is required (or equivalent experience)
- At least one year of experience in bookkeeping
- One to three years of administrative or office support experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) or similar tools
- Knowledge of Sage 50 or similar accounting software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

- Ability to assist with organizing or coordinating activities when required
- Ability to help with project coordination and process development considered assets
- Assist with the linguistic revision of texts in French and English
- Perform data entry and update content on the website
- Knowledge of government financial practices
