The province is investing $7.8 million into a bursary program for internationally educated nurses to earn their Canadian accreditation. Each candidate can access up to $30,000 over five years to cover expenses like tuition and accommodations. As part of the program, nurses must work in Alta. for one year for every $6,000 received. A further commitment of $7.3 million will fund 626 seats in bridging and licensing programs for internationally educated RNs and LPNs at three colleges in the province.
