The Alta. government is boosting a program that helps doctors cover expenses to run their practice. The province is putting another $20 million per year into the program to raise the payment rate for doctors and on average, physicians will get another $2,300 annually. The government's also adding reimbursements to physicians for medical liability protection fees and a program that reimburses doctors for professional development costs is also being reinstated.
