The Integrated School Support Program (ISSP) offers meal programs, physical education, after-school care and access to mental-health professionals. The $4-million expansion of the will see the initiative reach an additional 10 schools this spring. The program was launched in 2014 as a pilot project to improve the well-being of vulnerable children. The pilot was an initiative funded by the Calgary Police Youth Foundation and led by the Calgary Police Service with the Calgary Board of Education, Calgary Catholic School District and the City of Calgary’s Community and Neighborhood Services. The agencies' vision was to provide a 360-degree support system for youth and their families.
