The BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) says the registry allows clients to verify the name and credentials of its members. It'll be the first counselling association in B.C. to posts public notices of consent agreements, disciplinary actions and resignations of members resulting from the complaint investigation process. The BCACC says the registry aligns with other regulated healthcare professions, adding transparency and accountability measures are crucial if the association is to become a self-regulating college.
