The Age-Well National Innovation Hub at Simon Fraser University in Surrey, B.C., received $3.5 million in funding from Western Economic Diversification Canada, a federal government agency. The money is for a digital health circle, which will foster innovations aimed at preventing health issues in an aging population. The hub will connect academics and government agencies with health authorities, community groups and other stakeholders to develop digital technologies that allow seniors to age in place, reducing the burden on healthcare and social services.
