The centre’s expected to support about 8,000 patients each year. The $39-million facility's a dedicated centre for child and adolescent mental health where teams will offer services with the goal of reducing the number of crises through early intervention and treatment. It will work like a day hospital where treatment services will all be offreed in the same facility to simplify the flow of patients to quickly get them the care they need. The facility will operate in partnership with the University of Calgary, where researchers will develop, test and refine new clinical interventions.
