A study from the University of Calgary and the Calgary Local Immigration Partnership finds that between 2013 and 2016, the perception that healthcare needs were unmet was lower among the city's immigrant population (4.3%) than among its non-immigrant residents (7.2%). Non-immigrants were more likely to have consulted a medical or mental health practitioner. The data suggest over 92% of Calgary immigrants rated their physical health as good or excellent, while just under 91% of non-immigrants' self-reported their health similarly. As for mental health, 95% of immigrants and just under 94% of non-immigrants said it was at least good.
