Canadian government invests to address public health evidence gaps

The Public Health Agency of Canada’s Enhanced Surveillance for Chronic Disease Program (ESCDP) is investing $6,621,475 to support projects addressing public health evidence gaps related to chronic diseases, injuries, mental health and substance use. This funding will be distributed among seven organizations, including the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control and the University of Toronto. These projects aim to enhance data collection on substance-related harms, mental health issues and the long-term impacts of COVID-19.
