A Health Canada report summarizing the public's input on the proposed Safe Long-Term Care Act revealed a significant preference for aging at home with support, the need for high-quality and safe long-term care and the importance of inclusivity and cultural safety in care. The report also highlights the public's desire for a continuum of supportive care, including home and palliative care and the need for a responsive and diverse long-term care workforce. Over 5,000 participants, including healthcare organizations, academics, and long-term care residents, provided feedback.
