Grace Losier resigned as chair of the board of Horizon Health Network. The Liberal-appointed chair says she stepped down at the request of Health Minister Ted Flemming, and that someone working for Flemming had given her the choice of resigning or being fired. A Health Department spokesperson said Flemming had not asked for the resignation of Michelyne Paulin, the board chair for the Vitalité Health Network. Losier pointed how that she replaced an appointee of the previous PC government who had been allowed to serve his full four-year term; Losier's term would have expired in 2020. Seven members of the Horizon board are appointed and eight are elected during local government elections every four years.
