Dalhousie will launch a two-year Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program to meet the pressing demand of healthcare workers. The program is the first of its kind in the Maritimes. In addition to N.S. investing in a PA program, in 2023, the provincial government announced $1.7 million to add 10 PAs to collaborative primary care sites across the province. These advancements follow the successful 2019 pilot project at the NSHA for three PAs to work in orthopaedic surgery to tackle hip and knee surgery wait times.
