Decreased CT scan wait leads to improved flow at The Moncton Hospital

Horizon Health Network implemented a process improvement project involving multiple departments in the hospital to accelerate the transfer process between the ER and the medical imaging department. The two-week pilot was launched in Moncton in Mar. and data from this period show an increase in the number of CT scans performed, from 130 to 178 and a decrease in CT scan cycle time from 2.3 hours to 1.5 hours.
