A study to be published in the International Journal of Aging and Society concludes that internet-enabled cognitive behavioral therapy (IECBT) is effective at treating older people with anxiety and depression. It also finds a larger percentage of older men signing up for the therapy than younger men. A 71% majority of the older patients studied were self-referred, compared to 56% of younger people. The study found the group which self-referred displayed a wider range of conditions than those who were referred by a physician.
