The National Health Service's proposals focus on reducing never events and improving the safety of patients with mental health issues. They include a proposal for types of avoidable harm to be halved over the next five years in medication errors and never events and for developing a culture where frontline staff are supported to speak up when errors occur. It also proposes a "curriculum for patient safety" that can be used to standardize how incidents should be reported and acted upon, similar to curricula available in Australia and Canada. The strategy also includes a patient safety survey.
