The Chalmers hospital has been undergoing renovations for six years. Two years ago, doctors began advocating that one of the renovated spaces become a hybrid operating room, which gives physicians the ability to do all kinds of surgeries and treatments within the same space. The physician advocacy group says the provincial government is placing the first hybrid OR in Saint John and halted the Fredericton project as they don’t feel a second one is needed in the province. The provincial government says it’ll soon have more to say on the matter.
