Halifax private primary care clinic claims it’s addressing healthcare gaps

The private clinic, which opened in Feb. 2023, offers a subscription-based, nurse-practitioner-led service. The clinic’s founder says the practice is allowing Nova Scotians to access the care they need amid lengthy wait times in the public system. Since opening, the clinic’s client base has steadily climbed and staffing increased to three nurse practitioners and three RNs. Although some private insurance companies reimburse, generally the expenses are out of pocket. A second clinic was launched in Mahone Bay.
