Métis patients diagnosed with cancer faced discrimination and unfair treatment from hospital staff. This is why the Métis - Nation Saskatchewan Health Department engaged with Métis citizens and their families to learn and share their cancer journeys through a guidebook and journal that'll be offered to Métis citizens diagnosed with cancer. These resources provide Métis cancer patients with culturally relevant and accessible information, including travel program details and a list of available services and supports. The tools are part of Saskatchewan Cancer Agency’s efforts in promoting health equity.
