Health P.E.I. offers sexual health walk-in clinics

Health P.E.I. is now offering sexual health evening walk-in clinics in Charlottetown and Summerside. Tests are carried out by a nurse or nurse practitioner and no appointment is required. Each clinic runs from 4 to 8 p.m. and offers testing for sexually-transmitted and blood-borne infections. Pap testing is also available. Patients can request a test using a code instead of their name. If they test positive, the result are reported to public health using their name. Some believe the program is too sporadic and excludes rural areas.
