Health PEI will survey patients on satisfaction in acute care

Patients discharged in September will receive a postcard in the mail with the link to a survey. Health PEI hospitals started collecting patients’ email addresses over the past year and the survey will be sent by email to patients after discharge. Patients will also be notified by regular mail when the surveys are ready. The survey will be sent quarterly and will include questions based on the four principles of patient and family-centered care: information sharing; dignity and respect; collaboration; and participation. Survey results will be taken back to staff at healthcare facilities so recommended changes can be made.
