A survey found that eight in 10 health experts are concerned about the rising rate of high blood pressure cases in Canada, as one in four Canadians are affected by the heart condition and more people are being diagnosed at an earlier age. The survey also found that seven in 10 health experts are concerned many people aren’t aware of what hypertension is or how to detect if they have it. Lack of awareness, prevention, detection and treatment - often made worse by the pandemic - were identified as areas for improvement to address hypertension.
