Health Quality Ontario and the Associated Medical Services (AMS) foundation are sponsoring Change Day Ontario, which is part of a global movement designed to empower people within the health system to make positive changes through making pledges and taking actions to improve compassionate quality care. Until Nov. 17, the initiative is inviting anyone engaged within or touched by the health system to make a pledge, such as spending a day in a wheelchair to better understand the patient experience or teaching seniors social media skills to decrease isolation and depression. Originating in the U.K., Change Day has now spread to many regions, including B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario. More than 40 organizations have joined Change Day Ontario.
