The percentage of Horizon Health Network hospital beds occupied by alternate level of care patients (ALC) was between 25% and 26% per cent in 2020-2023. Currently, it’s approximately 35%. Horizon says it’s working on finding placements, where possible, for those ALC patients. In late Nov., there were 931 people waiting for a bed in a nursing home. Of those, 436 spent that wait in hospital.
