Hundreds of N.B. parents sign petition for construction of children’s hospital in province

The petition, calling on N.B. to get its own pediatric hospital, collected more than 400 signatures. Over the last fiscal year, more than 750 New Brunswick patients had inpatient stays at the IWK in Halifax. The NBMS echoes the call to improve pediatric services in the province but says many other health system improvements are necessary before the province can build, equip and staff a children’s hospital. Petition organizers hope to present it to the Legislature in the coming weeks.
