Maclean's looks at increased birth tourism in Canada

The increase in birth tourism has led to changes in hospital policy in Canada, and has doctors facing some delicate ethical issues, Maclean's reports. Some doctors are hesitant to deliver a baby to a foreign national because if something goes wrong he or she could be sued for malpractice in another country. The Canadian Medical Protective Association, which provides physicians with assistance in medical legal cases, says they can’t support foreign cases against Canadian doctors.
