Beginning May 31, 2018, nurses in Manitoba will be subject to the Regulated Health Professions Act. That means that registered nurse-authorized prescribers will be able to write scripts for drugs including travel vaccinations, birth control, antibiotics and medications to help control diabetes. Nurses will also be permitted to order certain screening and diagnostic tests and diagnose certain diseases.
