The clinic was launched in Sept. in Sydney to serve patients after post-tropical storm Fiona and 300 people used it. Staffed by NPs and other healthcare professionals, it offers in-person and virtual treatment for flu or cold symptoms, rashes, muscle pain and UTIs, as well as prescription renewals. The clinic will be in Antigonish to focus on StFX students, many of whom aren't permanent residents. The clinic’s currently being used as a test and will be offered as a temporary service. There are 116,000 Nova Scotians on the provincial physician waitlist.
