The creator of the Avvy app, a Montreal nurse, compares the service to Uber for healthcare. Avvy launched in the Greater Montreal Area in Apr. and the company hopes to expand to other Canadian cities. Users can upload their requisition form from their doctor and request a nurse to come to their home. Most appointments are on the same day and some can be as fast as 15 minutes. Users can request non-urgent care options, such as blood tests ($49 per visit), COVID-19 tests, electrocardiograms, strep tests, ear cleaning and immunizations.
