More than 3M Canadians waiting for surgeries, specialists, scans

More than one million people are waiting to see a specialist, 1.4 million residents are waiting for diagnostic care and 631,000 are waiting for surgeries. Since several provinces didn’t provide complete data, the total is estimated to be closer to 5.1 million patients waiting - roughly one in eight Canadians. The number of Canadians waiting for healthcare services rose by more than 140,000 since late 2022. Sask., Que. and Man. saw the best improvements on surgical and diagnostic waitlists.
