The Seniors Health, Well-being and Home Safety Review connects seniors with programs and services in their communities. The program is showing success and 1,600 seniors already signed up. As part of the program, a 90-minute review is conducted by the Department of Social Development. This includes a home visit that informs seniors about programs in their community that can assist them in their daily lives. Seniors taking part of the review can create a personalized plan to maintain a more active and independent lifestyle. They can also apply for $1,500 in funding for minor in-home repairs to increase their mobility and independence.
