Coming out of the Federal, Provincial, and Territorial Health Ministers’ Meeting was a five-part work plan, which includes strengthening and sharing standardized health data. This is expected to improve barriers and allow for better planning for future health workforce needs. Stéphane Robichaud, New Brunswick Health Council CEO, says the focus on data is extremely important. He adds health systems across the country have a poor grasp on resources and part of the recruitment needs to be on how these resources are better utilized. Robichaud believes anything that provides a better understanding of where the needs are can help from an education perspective, from a recruitment perspective and from a management perspective.
