The University of Waterloo study found that 23% of Canadians are facing high anxiety while 15% are experiencing high depression. Before the pandemic these levels were at around 4% or 5%. Researchers say it's especially concerning that even with high levels of vaccination and few remaining COVID-19 restrictions in Canada, the rates of anxiety and depression changed very little since polling began in Apr. 2020.
