New Brunswick introduced a limited colon cancer screening program four years ago to find the disease in people who had no family or personal colon cancer history, helping people who might overlook the risks. Cancer specialists say the results were very successful. This new funding will be spent on expanding the program province-wide by next year. The program found colon cancer in 127 people since the screening process began. New Brunswickers will be asked to participate in a survey sent by mail as part of the program.
