The New Zealand Ministry of Health's report on Health Promoting Schools (or HPS), a school community focused national service to help schools assess and address the health and wellbeing requirements of students to advance student learning and achievement outcomes, assesses how successful the service has been across schools in New Zealand. The findings reveal that schools see positive student outcomes in attendance, stand-downs and suspensions, and achievement in reading when school effectiveness, leadership effectiveness, family engagement and HPS facilitator effectiveness are combined.
