The province says the International Resident Assessment Instrument for Long Term Care Facilities (interRAI) will enhance quality of care in long-term care facilities. The online care management tool will help staff identify health issues, develop care plans and monitor the progress of residents. InterRAI will collect data and be used to generate reports specific to residents and facilities, measuring quality and areas for improvement. InterRAI will also facilitate reporting to the CIHI. A request for proposals was issued by the province to hire a team that will buy and oversee the implementation of the interRAI system.
