Those with mild mental health or substance use concerns can call a free provincial peer support line to speak with someone who can relate to their experience. The peer supporters provide social and emotional support, reassurance and encouragement for those feeling isolated, alone or anxious. They can also provide information about additional formal services and supports. In terms of access, in most cases, people can speak with somebody the same or next day. The line will only be open from Wed. to Fri. evenings and on weekends. The service isn't meant to be a crisis line and is offered by mental health consultants MH Innovations.
