The latest collective agreement for nurses in N.S. includes a provision that’ll set nurse-to-patient ratios for hospital settings. The Nova Scotia Nurses’ Union believes the change will have a huge impact on the working lives of nurses as they’ll go to work knowing they won’t be overloaded with patients, they’ll be able to take breaks and they’ll be able to go home when their shift ends. N.S. is just the second province, after B.C., to secure ratios.
