The province is offering to cover all tuition costs for more than 460 people who want to become a paramedic or an emergency medical responder. They must in turn work in N.S. for at least four years. The recruitment initiative is looking to add 180 emergency medical responders and 150 primary care paramedics to the province. The tuition program, at a cost of $7 million, is being hailed by the paramedics' union as a game changer for the industry.
