The pilot, the first of its kind for N.S., will assess Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in preschool and school aged children. N.S. will spend $500,000 to pay for assessments done through a private psychologist, for those who are on the provincial wait list. The pilot will run for one year. There are 1,300 children on the wait list for autism assessment in N.S. and 400 on the wait list for ADHD.
