The provincial government says a pilot program aims to shave two months off the time it takes to train continuing care assistants (CCAs). The government is partnering with Shannex and NSCC to offer a six-month program starting in Apr., with updated curriculum it says will better meet the needs of older Nova Scotians. The pilot course content will include more emphasis on equity, diversity, inclusion, reconciliation and accessibility, while addressing complexities of dementia and palliative care, as well as behavioural support.
