One of the first acts of the new P.C. government in Ontario was to change the rules governing the public drug plan, OHIP+. The former Liberal government introduced the scheme this year to cover prescriptions for all residents under age 25. Incoming health minister Christine Elliott says youths not under their parents' private plans will get free prescriptions, adding the public plan will only cover gaps in coverage for those with private insurance.
