Niagara Virtual Urgent Care allows adult patients who don’t have access to a primary care provider to book a same-day appointment, where NPs diagnose, order diagnostic tests, formulate and prescribe treatment plans and coordinate referrals. For a better patient experience and quality care, the online virtual treatment program’s appointments are booked in 15-minute intervals. Depending on the situation, an ED physician is on-hand to do further examination and advise on next steps. The website also supports care for children and youth through London Health Sciences Centre’s Children’s Hospital. The NPs offering the service believe the benefits to patients are the ease and speed with which they can see someone.
