A program in Guelph, Ont., provides a safe space for those experiencing substance abuse problems who aren't sick enough for hospital but still require medical supervision. Paramedics monitor the well-being of patients in the two-bed Supportive Recovery Rooms program. In the first 12 days, nine patients spent a total of 180 hours recovering at the facility.
