Federal Indigenous Services Minister Jane Philpott announced $68 million in funding over three years as part of efforts to transfer control over Indigenous health programs to First Nations. The funding will be directed to Indigenous communities in Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan, with the aim to increase the control and the design of health systems in the hands of First Nations governments.
