The accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program looks to fill vacancies across the province by getting nurses into hospitals about a year faster than the traditional nursing programs offered. There are already about 36 students expected in the first year this Sept. Regional Health Authorities hired 798 permanent RNs and LPNs between Apr. 2023 and the end of Mar. 2024. However, the Department of Health says there are still 993 spots to fill in the province. Oulton College says the accelerated program will be the first degree program to be offered by a college in N.B.
