The province's COVID-19 dashboard shows 633 healthcare workers tested positive for COVID-19 and isolating. The emergency department at the Sussex Health Centre was closed for the evening and night shifts last weekend because several staff members are off sick with COVID-19. About 100 staff were off work because of COVID-19 in all of Zone 2, including Sussex. Patients at Horizon’s Upper River Valley Hospital Labour and Birth services are also temporarily being diverted to Fredericton due to COVID-19 related staffing shortages. A total of 250 Horizon staff were unable to report to work after testing positive for COVID-19, while 23 individual units across seven Horizon facilities are in outbreak situations.
