Patient engagement is increasing at clinical and health policy conferences across Canada. Such engagement often goes beyond providing passive support, as highlighted by the Patients Included charter designations. Many clinical and health policy conferences, such as annual meetings of the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) and Health Quality Ontario, achieved this designation. CADTH provided financial support for 30 patient representatives to attend its annual meeting, where there were sessions focused on the patient experience and patient engagement. The CADTH meeting demonstrated patient representatives don't always speak with one voice.
