P.E.I. schools piloting mental health teams to support students, parents

A team comprised of a mental health clinician, two nurses and two student outreach workers is supporting the needs of students and their parents at two families of schools in western P.E.I. Health PEI says 130 students have accessed the service, which includes a safe space inside the school, provides mental or physical health supports, as well as access to occupational therapists and school psychologists. P.E.I. plans to roll the program out to its other schools in the next two years.
