Unified Health opened what it's calling a community triage centre in Halifax on Sept. 23. At what the company's calling a pilot clinic, patients pay out-of-pocket for non-emergency care such as massage therapy, mental health counselling, physiotherapy, naturopathy, acupuncture, osteopathy, spiritual therapy, somatic coaching and virtual reality therapy. As well, patients can pay $35 for a 15-minute consultation with a nurse practitioner. The company CEO is said to be crisscrossing the country, speaking with practitioners who are interested in partnering with Unified Health or opening new clinics.
