Statistics Canada also says the province has the equal-highest rate of people with high blood pressure and the third-highest rates of cancer and arthritis. The report shows the four leading causes of death in Canada in 2020 were cancer, heart disease, COVID-19 and accidental deaths, with males accounting for a higher proportion of the mortality in all categories.
